The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a portion of Southeast Michigan, basically along the I-69 corridor and south.

This area could see 2 to 4 inches. The advisory is in effect from 7am to 7pm this evening. Drivers should be aware that the Monday evening commute could be a little dicey, especially on roads not thoroughly treated by local road commissions.

The Winter Weather Advisory was posted, and reads as followed:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.

* WHERE…Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties.

* WHEN…From 7 AM this morning to 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow will overspread the region this morning and persist through the afternoon with snowfall rates of one half an inch per hour common by midday with rates near one inch per hour rates possible at times.
