Snow that fell through the day Monday has begun to taper off, with to the Winter Weather Advisories expiring at 7pm, however, the Monday evening commute still suffers as road crews typically fully activate until late tonight.

According to the MDOT MiDrive Map, we only have 4 accidents across the state. Three of which are in Detroit, and one near Kalamazoo on I-94. Please drive with caution tonight as road conditions may not improve very well until later tonight.
About 48 MDOT snow plows are active right now across the state, excluding city and county plows. They are working hard to keep the interstate system snow free, and are doing an incredible job, as mentioned before, in the whole Lower Peninsula, there are only four accidents.
Looking at some MDOT traffic cameras, we can see visual proof, from the air, that MDOT is keeping those highways snow and ice free.
At this time, do know, light snow may fall tonight before it tapers off. Salt does not work well in certain temperatures, below 15 to 20 degrees is about when it starts to become useless. We are sitting here at 18, with a low of 4. Please, again, be careful out on the roads tonight.
